The Lichfield Festival 4th – 14th July

Booking has now opened for the 2018 Lichfield Festival which runs throughout the city from the 4th – 14th July.  Highlights in the awesome surroundings of Lichfield Cathedral, include the the BBC National Orchestra of Wales playing the sublime Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2, A Dancer’s Dream starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil and Katya Jones, La Nuova Musica with  Lichfield-born, international star soprano Lucy Crowe, Kris Drever (winner of BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year 2017) with Julie Fowlis, the CBSO playing Schubert and Mendelssohn and the amazing National Youth Jazz Orchestra with esteemed trumpeter and soloist Yazz Ahmed.

Elsewhere in the city you will fine comedians Tom Allen and Mark Steel , Ballet Cymru, Liza Pulman of Fascinating Aida singing Streisand, Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads, restaurant critic and jazz pianist Jay Rayner, the Carducci quartet and so much more.

The very popular Young Artist Series runs throughout the Festival, alongside cabaret, theatre, talks, walks and a number of free community events including the Festival Market and a giant animal puppetry parade.
