Singing legend and TV personality, Tony Hadley, made his first visit to the Lichfield Festival this month after becoming a patron earlier in the year. The Spandau Ballet singer and I’m A Celebrity star was a guest at Swinfen Hall where he enjoyed an evening of music, wine and anecdotes in the company of wine critic and broadcaster Oz Clarke and the Armonico Consort. Oz Clarke recounted tales of the musical and alcohol-fuelled exploits of some of the great baroque composers illustrated with musical interludes sung by Eloise Irving and James Hall accompanied by the Armonico Consort.
Along the way, there was a chance to sample craft ales from Kings Bromley-based microbrewery Quartz Brewing and a range of specially-selected fine wines.
The audience enjoyed a very sociable evening with some fabulous music and two great personalities on top form.
