All our deluxe double or king rooms are very spacious and enjoy panoramic views across the deer park or the front park land. In your room you will find all the little luxuries you would expect from a red star hotel – bottled water, hospitality tray, Nespresso machine, Ipod docking station, bathrobes to name but a few. Check in is from 2 pm so you have every opportunity to enjoy a stroll around the grounds or a trip to Lichfield in the afternoon.
Dinner is a very relaxed and leisurely affair. Enjoy an aperitif in the Edwardian bar or cocktail lounge before going through to eat in the Four Seasons. Our splendid oak-panelled restaurant has well-spaced tables with crisp white linen, fine crystal glass and Wedgwood china – although our Tasting Menus are served using hand made plates and bowls designed to showcase each individual dish.
Our six-course Tasting Menu (or the Vegetarian version) have been constructed using first-class, locally-sourced ingredients many of which come from our own back garden. Besides estate-reared venison and the very occasional appearance of our Manx Loaghtan lamb, you will find a wide selection of fruit and vegetables from our Victorian walled garden including Peruvian Purple and Apple Fir potatoes, golden and candied beetroot, heritage tomatoes and carrots, Swiss chard, a variety of squashes and an abundance of soft fruits.
Each dish on the Tasting menu is paired with a different glass of wine. Having a wine flight rather than the same wine throughout the meal ensures that the flavour combinations of each individual course are perfectly matched. It also gives the opportunity to try new wines you may not have experienced before. We will ask you which wine you enjoyed the best as you will be given a bottle to take home the next day.
Your stay is rounded off with a splendid cooked and continental breakfast the following morning.
