Lichfield Literature Festival – Churchill’s Bestiary: His Life Through Animals

March 7 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

£10

This is the first of two events that Swinfen Hall is hosting for the 2019 Lichfield Literature Festival and promises to be a fascinating insight into the enigma that was Winston Churchill

Historian and author, Dr Piers Brendon discusses Churchill’s great love and admiration of animals and considers the paradox of the animal-loving hunter.  Churchill repeatedly used animal analogies in his speeches and writing and this book explores how animals formed a large part of his daily life.

Tickets are priced at £10 and can be bought online at www.lichfieldfestival.org or by phone from 01543 306150.

The Challenge of Defending Britain by Professor Michael Clarke follows at 6.30 pm – see full details below.
