Booking has now opened for the 36th annual Lichfield Festival which runs from Friday 7th July through to Saturday 15th July. The Festival opens with the Halle Orchestra in the cathedral playing Beethoven, Strauss and Rachmaninov and American comedian Rich Hall in the Garrick Theatre musing over the current state of play in the US. Over the following 8 days Lichfield is treated to a stellar cast of live performances including The Sixteen, Dame Evelyn Glennie, folk star Seth Lakeman and Wildwood Kin, Tony Robinson, the Welsh Ballet, Black Voices and the Lichfield Gospel Choir, Juliet Stevenson and the BBC Concert Orchestra close the Festival with a fabulous evening of Hollywood film scores.
Here at Swinfen Hall we welcome Oz Clarke and the Armonico consort in an evening entitled “Drink to Music” where Oz invites the audience to explore the spurious links between wine and music. That’s on Tuesday 11th July and on Thursday morning 13th July you can hear the acclaimed Ferro Saxophone Quartet.
Tickets for all festival events are available from www.lichfieldfestival.org or from the Garrick Box office.
Tables for a special pre-concert dinner before the Oz Clarke evening can be booked through the hotel reception on 01543 481494. Likewise for the post-concert lunch after the Ferio Quartet on the 13th July.
